Spring Activities in Reno-Tahoe

March 20th marked the first day of spring. We are seeing more daylight now in the evenings (even after losing that hour of sleep!) and the sun is shining more and more in Northern Nevada. That can only me one thing… it’s time to plan for spring activities! What do we have happening in the Reno-Tahoe area this spring? Here’s a list of things to do that will keep you busy until the summer hits. St. James Village is the perfect distance away from Reno and Lake Tahoe spring activities.

Go Skiing! Ski Resorts Are Open Until May

We had quite the winter this year with snowfall, so if you’re a skier, you’re in luck! The resorts are looking to stay open until May…and some even later. You’ve got plenty of choices including Tahoe Donner, Kirkwood, North Star and Squaw Valley. This site will give you closing dates if you’re interested in planning a trip or hitting the slopes this spring.

Visit the Parks in Reno

While the mountains are still snowy this season, you can still hit the trails in town for some much needed outdoor activity. There’s plenty of trails and parks in Reno that offer all of the benefits of the outdoors without the snow in Tahoe. So, if you’re in the mood for a sunnier, relaxed day, hit up a local park. Some of our favorites include: San Rafael Park, Idlewild Park, and Cold Springs Park.

Walk by the River

The river got an abundance of water this year and is running stronger than ever. This makes it the perfect time to get outside and enjoy the fresh air, while taking in the beautiful scenes of the Truckee river. Walking along the Reno River District allows for a scenic experience that will help you add some activity to the day. Need a boost of energy? Stop at Hub Coffee Roasters for a cup of a delicious coffee that will surely make your day extra special.

We hope you enjoy your spring in the Reno-Tahoe area. There’s so many beautiful things to experience just miles from St. James’s Village gated community.
