Make Moving Plans in Advance
Are you moving an entire home? The first of the moving tips is that you will want to coordinate and book your movers at least 30 days in advance. During busier months in the spring and summer, it’s good to do your research early and collect at least three quotes.

Check online for free or discounted boxes and packing supplies. You can save time and money by having the items delivered to your house prior to the move. For extra organization, throw in some color coded labels and sharpies so that you can clearly label each box and itemize the contents to make unpacking a breeze. Moving already involves a ton of extra to-dos and errands, so anything that you can eliminate will save your time and sanity!
Make an Unpacking Strategy
If you have done your homework and prepared, moving day should not be too stressful. It helps to prepare yourself mentally and know that there will be bumps in the road. Once your boxes arrive at your new house, carry each box and furniture to its correct room. Make sure you pull out your overnight bag and essentials. After a good night’s rest, you can tackle the unpacking process—one box at a time. Don’t stress about having everything done in one day. Set a two time-line that has you unpacking a few boxes a day. Giving yourself a deadline will help move things along.
