It’s Summertime in Northwestern Nevada

The snow has melted, schools are closed, and family adventure awaits!

reno lifestyleIn the heart of northwestern Nevada, Reno, is a cornucopia of activity and offers something for everyone. It’s home to world-class dining, arts, music, sports and all sorts of outdoor fun … no matter what the season.

If you’ve never been to northwestern Nevada and the Reno/Tahoe area and imagine it only as a winter destination, you will be pleasantly surprised.

When the mercury rises and warmer months roll around, there is so much to see and do. And, because there is so much going on, living in a community that’s close to everything is very important. Not only is St. James’s Village located between downtown Reno and Lake Tahoe, it’s located at the base of the Sierra Nevada Mountains and offers stunning views of both landscape and wildlife. Our location is what makes us unique. Our community sits on over 1,600 acres of land, have 5 neighborhoods and are maintained by the Homeowner’s Association, which conducts year-round maintenance to preserve the natural beauty and keep our residents safe. St. James’s Village is also a great place for biking, camping, golf and hiking.

While this time of year is terrific for getting outdoors, if you’d like to get away from the rustic country-life, downtown Reno or Lake Tahoe are only a short drive away. Both have plenty to offer and are extremely family friendly.

reno lifestyleThese summer months are great for taking in a baseball game or two. The Pacific Coast’s Minor League team, the Reno Aces, have their stadium located in the heart of downtown Reno. They’re the farm-club to the major league baseball’s National League’s Arizona Diamond Backs. Their regular season starts in April and runs until the end of August. However, if you’re not in the mood for sports, there are plenty of other options out there.

Lake Tahoe is just as interesting; it is the place where California and Nevada meet. Both North and South Lake Tahoe offer a variety of activities including concerts and festivals. One of the highlights is the, “Red, White and Tahoe Blue” festival. Since 2007, this festival has been held every year from July 3 to July 5. It showcases a 35-minute firework display and according AOL Travel ranks it as the No. 6 best firework display in the nation.

It will only take one summer or winter visit and you’ll be ready to pack your bags and head out west! For any information about living in or visiting northwestern Nevada, call St. James’s Village.
