Where to Watch the Fireworks – Reno’s New Year’s Eve

FWS

In Northern Nevada, it’s a matter of where you go that truly shows why the Reno/Tahoe area is a perfect place to enjoy New Year’s Eve for the whole family. There’s nothing better than seeing fireworks as it strikes midnight, into the New Year. Reno offers plenty of spots to watch the show, and we recommend one of these places:

Top 3 Places to Watch Fireworks in Reno

Downtown – South Virginia

The easiest pick is heading to the strip. While the nightlife is always a party, it’s a special kind of celebration on New Year’s Eve. There’s a sense of balance between adult and family activities happening on the strip. Being in the middle of it all will be a spectacle like no other. And when the clock strikes twelve, fireworks will stream from the tops of Circus Circus, Eldorado Resort Casino, and Silver Legacy. There will also be a show at the Grand Sierra Resort. It’s recommended to arrive early for a good spot. Make sure head to the top of one of the many parking garages on the strip.

University Ridge Park

If the “strip scene” is too busy for you, try a more remote spot and head over to University Ridge Park. This destination, on top of a hill, is gorgeous any time of the year, but it is especially wonderful on New Year’s Eve. You and your family can enjoy some quality time playing on the swings and slides as you wait for the show to begin. There is something symbolic and empowering about standing tall, on top of that hill when the New Year arrives.

Live Streaming

Not in the mood for a frigid start to a New Year? Stay cozy in your home, with close family and friends. Play some board games, eat savory finger food, and stream the fireworks show live from your TV. It’s safe and convenient, and you’ll find these moments with loved ones to be just as memorable.
